Enticing employees back into the office and creating agile workspace has become high priority as we near the end of the lockdown.
Over recent months, Essential Projects has been working very closely with commercial property agents, facilities managers and business owners in order to better utilise their office or warehouse space by installing mezzanine flooring structures.
Rather than having to look for new premises that are bigger and having all the hassle that is involved in moving or building an extension, another, simpler and cost-effective solution might be to utilise the high roof spaces and install a mezzanine floor and staircase.
As long as there is sufficient vertical space, mezzanine structures can be installed and utilised for a variety of purposes and are often a much cheaper alternative. The extra space can be used to create additional production areas, storage space or offices.
The advantage of using Essential projects is that we can design, manufacture and install the mezzanine and the staircase. Each mezzanine floor structure we design is also fully customisable with a range of differing staircase layouts to suit the customers need or desired look. The design can be kept simple with a minimal spec to industrial standards or we can create a retail finish standard using feature glass balustrade, steel handrails and wooden insets.
Traditionally you would need to find a contractor for each of the elements involved in installed a mezzanine structure, but at Essential Projects we have the experience and knowledge to manage the whole process, by manufacturing and installing the mezzanine structure, the staircase and the handrail system.
This provides our clients with a more cost effective and expert solution that reduces risk, saves times and money and provides the client with one single point of contact.
Do I need to get planning permission for a mezzanine floor?
We often get asked this question but normally businesses rarely need planning permission for mezzanine floors. However, you may have to adapt some internal structures of the design to ensure that you comply with current building regulations.
Typically, if there are no fire safety issues, you do not need planning, but it’s always best to consult with an expert like Essential Projects as we understand the rules and regulations that need to be met.
